AWS DevOps Engineer

About the role

Softnet Limited is hiring a full-time AWS DevOps Engineer based in Abuja, Nigeria. The role covers designing, deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, automating releases and working closely with developers, QA engineers and technical leads to support reliable software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, including networking components such as VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, NACLs and VPN connectivity.
• Support application deployment and management across development, testing, staging and production environments, with scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Assist with cloud resource provisioning, migration, upgrades and infrastructure modernisation.
• Automate build, test, package, release and deployment; integrate automated testing, code quality checks, security scans and approval stages into workflows.
• Work with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild and AWS CodeDeploy.
• Maintain deployment documentation, rollback procedures, release notes and version-control practices, and document infrastructure architecture, dependencies and configuration standards.
• Build and maintain Docker images and support containerised environments with Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS or other orchestration platforms.
• Take part in incident response, root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Configure IAM with least privilege and support secure handling of credentials, API keys, certificates and secrets with AWS Secrets Manager or Systems Manager Parameter Store.
• Contribute to AWS cost reviews and implement approved cost-saving measures.

Required profile

• A minimum of 5 years of experience.
• A minimum of a degree in a related field.
