Auditor (Microfinance)

About the role

Victory Empowerment Centre is looking for an experienced Auditor to conduct operational, financial and compliance audits of its micro‑finance branch activities in Lagos. The role involves reviewing loan portfolios, cash management processes and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodic operational, financial and compliance audits of branch activities.
• Review loan portfolios, cash management processes and customer records for accuracy.
• Identify control weaknesses, fraud risks and operational inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to management.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and support continuous improvement of internal control systems.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of auditing experience in a Microfinance Institution.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit procedures, risk management and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication skills with high integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with micro‑finance banking software.
