Associate Nursing Officer

About the role

Reliance Health is seeking an ambitious and result‑oriented Associate Nursing Officer to join its clinical team in Abuja. You will provide top‑notch medical care, support patients through assessments, sample collection, education, and advocacy while collaborating with doctors and laboratory staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, record health history, take vital signs and triage urgency.
• Collect, label, package and deliver blood and other samples safely.
• Explain treatment plans, test procedures and provide health education and counseling.
• Document assessments, procedures and sample details accurately in the electronic health record.
• Advocate for patient rights, follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, lab staff and pharmacists to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in training, suggest process improvements and support a culture of safety.

Required profile

• Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Degree in Nursing, registered nurse or midwife with a valid license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience and residence within 10 km of the clinic.

Required skills

• Phlebotomy for sample collection and handling.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records or digital charting systems.
• Basic technology use (laptops, tablets, Microsoft Office).
• Ability to counsel patients in more than one local or regional language (nice to have).
