Associate Director, Senior Banker

About the role

The EBRD is appointing two Associate Directors, Senior Bankers to its Lagos office. The role covers the full project cycle (origination, structuring, due diligence, execution, implementation and monitoring) for investment instruments, business and pipeline development, client management and policy dialogue. It focuses on Manufacturing & Services and Natural Resources, and may cover Food & Agribusiness, Real Estate and Telecommunications, Media & Technology.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and develop debt and equity transactions, structure and negotiate them, and manage project teams and workload
• Oversee due diligence, ensure transaction risks are identified, and deliver projects on time and to a high standard
• Monitor portfolio projects, verify monitoring reports, resolve implementation issues and report critical issues to management
• Support policy dialogue and the procurement of grants and technical cooperation funds
• Build a strong pipeline through business development, attend industry events and investor meetings, and screen proposals
• Supervise and coach junior bankers, and where applicable manage direct reports including performance management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA or CIMA desirable
• Extensive financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity, asset management or audit/consulting firm
• Experience leading transactions through the full project life cycle; relevant country or sector experience may be mandatory

• Credit analysis and financial modelling, with strong quantitative skills
• Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages, including financial analysis and modelling modules
• Coaching and mentoring, relationship management and negotiation
• Excellent written and oral English
