Assistant Production Manager – Furniture Manufacturing

About the role

Urban Crescent Furniture Ltd is looking for a hands‑on and highly responsible Assistant Production Manager to support the day‑to‑day supervision and execution of furniture production activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure that furniture projects are produced according to approved specifications, quality standards and production procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager in supervising daily factory production activities across carpentry, upholstery, finishing and other units.
• Monitor workmanship at each production stage, carry out in‑process quality checks and ensure defects are corrected before progressing.
• Supervise assigned production projects from commencement through completion, maintaining accurate production and inspection records.
• Ensure artisans follow approved drawings, measurements, specifications and production instructions.
• Assist in preparing and verifying production information required for Bills of Materials and daily work schedules.
• Report production challenges, material shortages and other risks promptly to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, Furniture Design, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–4 years’ relevant experience in furniture production, manufacturing, carpentry, joinery or a similar environment.
• Strong supervisory and people‑management skills with attention to detail and ability to identify production defects.
• Good organisational, record‑keeping and problem‑solving abilities; able to work effectively under pressure.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic proficiency in digital work‑management tools.
