Area Sales Manager – Beverage Industry

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead sales growth in the beverage sector across Lagos. The role involves managing distributor relationships, coaching field sales teams, and executing route‑to‑market strategies in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales volume, revenue, and distribution targets within the assigned territory.
• Manage and develop distributor and key customer relationships to drive business growth.
• Lead, coach, and supervise Sales Representatives and other field sales personnel.
• Expand market coverage, product availability, and in‑store visibility across channels.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities.
• Execute sales and trade marketing initiatives to enhance brand presence and performance.
• Prepare sales reports, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure effective receivables management and adherence to company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ FMCG sales experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role in the beverage industry.
• Proven experience in distributor management, route‑to‑market execution, and territory management.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets in competitive markets.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Good analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with sales reporting tools.
