Application Support Analyst - Finacle Integration

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for an Application Support Analyst in Lagos to keep its digital banking core stable, performant and reliable. The role ensures zero-downtime operations by leading rapid incident response, doing deep-dive root cause analysis and working closely with the Finacle Core team to resolve complex integration bottlenecks.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical escalation point for integration issues involving Finacle, coordinating with the Core Banking team on data discrepancies, connectivity drops and API failures.
• Run a blameless RCA process to find systemic issues and reduce repeat incidents by 30% through problem management and permanent bug fixes.
• Ensure 100% of production microservices have automated health checks and p99 latency alerts, and monitor OpenShift and other servers.
• Drive advanced alerting and logging strategies using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or Dynatrace so teams are alerted before users are affected.
• Oversee safe deployment of hotfixes and platform updates with automated rollbacks, and keep MTTR under 45 minutes for P1 incidents while maintaining 99.99% uptime for critical gateways.
• Increase the share of incidents resolved by the Platform Support team without escalation to engineering.

Required profile

• BSc in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3-4 years of hands-on operational experience with Finacle Core Banking, including troubleshooting integrators, batch jobs and ISO8583/REST messaging.
• Ability to read and debug Java code; navigating Java platform utilities is a strong plus.
• Strong experience supporting containerized workloads in OpenShift, including log analysis, pod debugging and resource scaling.
• Experience with Terraform/Ansible for environment automation and Kafka/RabbitMQ for message-queue monitoring.
• Medium proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL for data investigation and performance tuning.
