Analyst, Simulator Maintainer & Systems Administrator

About the role

The Simulator Maintainer & Systems Administrator is responsible for the continuous availability, reliability, security, and performance of all simulator systems within the Simulation Complex. This role covers preventive and corrective maintenance of hardware, software, networking infrastructure, audiovisual systems, simulator databases, and instructor support tools, acting as the primary technical resource for instructors, trainees, and management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all simulator systems are operational and available per the training schedule, performing routine preventive maintenance on hardware, software, servers, workstations, networks, and audiovisual equipment.
• Provide real‑time technical support during training programs, examinations, and demonstrations, assisting instructors with configuration, scenario loading, database management, and exercise recovery.
• Manage simulator networks, servers, storage, backups, and cybersecurity measures, maintaining user accounts, permissions, and monitoring network performance.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, service reports, equipment fault tracking, and develop/update procedures, checklists, and technical documentation.
• Liaise with simulator manufacturers and contractors for remote diagnostics, on‑site service, acceptance testing, and warranty contract monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, support audits and accreditation, maintain a safe technical environment, and participate in business continuity and disaster recovery activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, IT, or Marine Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
• Minimum 3‑5 years of technical support or maintenance experience with simulators, industrial control systems, marine or aviation training systems, or complex integrated IT environments.
• Personal competencies: ability to work independently, strong team collaboration, effective communication in English, and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
