AML/Compliance Officer

About the role

The AML/Compliance Officer will lead anti‑money‑laundering, counter‑funds‑terrorism and financial crime controls, ensuring the company meets regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee AML/CFT/CPF compliance and financial crime controls.
• Manage KYC, customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence processes.
• Conduct PEP, sanctions and adverse‑media screening.
• Monitor transactions and investigate suspicious activities.
• Review and assess customer, partner and business risks.
• Escalate and report suspicious transactions in line with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain AML policies, procedures and compliance records.
• Support regulatory reviews, audits and compliance investigations.
• Provide compliance reports and recommendations to management.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Product and other teams to strengthen compliance controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
• At least 84 months (7 years) of experience in AML, KYC, compliance, financial crime or risk management.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian AML/CFT requirements.
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking or other regulated financial services is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as CAMS or ICA are a plus.

• Proficiency in KYC and customer due‑diligence processes.
• Ability to conduct transaction monitoring and investigate suspicious activity.
• Strong analytical and investigative documentation skills.
