Accounting Officer

About the role

The school is looking for an Accounting Officer to manage fee collection, maintain financial records, oversee cash flow and budgeting, and provide accurate financial reporting for the administration and board.

Key responsibilities

• Collect school fees and other revenues.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and budget tracking.
• Monitor cash flow, prepare bank reconciliations and initiate fund transfers.
• Oversee the budgeting process with administrators and department heads.
• Prepare financial reports, statements and projections for the board and stakeholders.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide cost‑saving recommendations.
• Identify and correct discrepancies in transactions.
• Coordinate payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax and labour regulations.
• Process invoices, purchase orders and expense reimbursements.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Integrity and professionalism in handling financial data.
• Residence within the Ejigbo, Isolo or Oshodi area of Lagos State.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
