About the role
The Accounting Clerk supports the finance team by ensuring accurate entry of financial data, maintaining records, and assisting with routine accounting tasks. This full‑time position is based at Marriott International’s Lagos office.
Key responsibilities
- Verify figures, postings and documents for accuracy and proper coding.
- Organise, secure and maintain files, records, cash and cash equivalents in line with company policies.
- Record, store and analyse computerized financial information.
- Maintain electronic spreadsheets for financial and accounting data.
- Classify, code and summarise numerical data using journals, ledgers or accounting software.
- Prepare, maintain and distribute financial, accounting and payroll reports.
- Execute period‑end closing procedures and generate required reports.
- Prepare, review, reconcile and issue bills, invoices and account statements.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related accounting or finance experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to follow company policies, maintain confidentiality and handle light physical tasks (≤10 lb).
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting.
