Finance Policy Analyst

About the role

The British Council is seeking a Finance Policy Analyst to support its finance transformation programme. The role will focus on developing, drafting and implementing finance policies that strengthen internal controls and align with the organisation's strategy and risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Update and create finance policies to support the new Target Operating Model.
• Collaborate with the outsourced Managed Service Provider and internal finance teams to embed policies.
• Monitor policy compliance and recommend improvements.
• Provide advice on financial controls, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work with change initiatives to ensure proportionate financial controls are embedded.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in one of the listed locations (UK, Poland, Malaysia, Nigeria).
• Experience in finance policy development within a complex, international environment.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and regulatory reporting.
• Ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships.
