Accountant

About the role

En'point Bakery Limited is seeking a diligent Accountant to join its finance team in Port Harcourt. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting inventory control, and providing insights that drive profitability for the bakery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date accounting records, record daily sales, purchases, expenses and payments.
• Prepare weekly management accounts, financial reports and perform bank reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, conduct stock counts and investigate variances.
• Calculate production costs, analyse product profitability and recommend pricing or cost‑optimisation measures.
• Verify daily cash sales, reconcile POS transactions, forecast cash flow and report risks.
• Process payroll, calculate overtime, deductions and ensure PAYE compliance.
• Prepare and file VAT returns, manage statutory tax obligations and support audit processes.
• Produce weekly management reports covering revenue, costs, profit margins, cash position, inventory status and debtor/creditor analysis.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations and payroll administration.
