Account Officer – Finance Strategy & Reporting

About the role

The Account Officer will lead the development and execution of the company's finance strategy, overseeing budgeting, cash‑flow management and financial reporting while maintaining strong relationships with customers, financial institutions and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the finance strategy, including budgeting, project cash‑flows and investment decisions.
• Maintain relationships with customers, banks, investors, external auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Oversee tax planning, compliance and interaction with federal and state tax authorities.
• Establish internal control systems to safeguard financial assets.
• Lead preparation of financial reports, consolidated accounts and management accounts in line with accounting standards.
• Coordinate the preparation of group financial targets, strategic plans and budgets with business unit managers.
• Analyse monthly operating results against budget and communicate balance‑sheet and cash‑flow implications.
• Develop benchmarks and key performance indicators to measure business unit performance.

Required profile

• Minimum OND in Accounting or Finance from a reputable tertiary institution.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN or ACCA is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience as an Account Officer in a medium‑to‑large organization.
• Strong experience with Sage Accounting software.
