Team Lead, Site Reliability Engineering

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is looking for a Team Lead, Site Reliability Engineering to drive reliability across its highly distributed financial platform. You will shape the technical direction, mentor a squad of SREs, and ensure the systems scale with the company’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Set the technical vision for the SRE team and architect self‑healing, highly available systems.
• Define and enforce reliability standards, including Production Readiness Reviews.
• Drive observability‑as‑code, guiding deep instrumentation (logging, tracing, metrics) and managing a low‑noise alerting ecosystem.
• Lead, mentor, and grow Senior and Associate SREs through code reviews, workshops, and a culture of engineering excellence.
• Act as the ultimate escalation point for major incidents, refine incident‑management processes, and ensure actionable RCAs.
• Partner with Engineering Managers and Product Leads to define Service Level Objectives aligned with business goals.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in SRE or Backend Engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior mentoring role.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Java, Go, Rust, or Python.
• Deep mastery of distributed systems patterns and scalable architecture design.
• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform or AWS and running Kubernetes (GKE) at scale.
• Proven track record defining observability strategies and building end‑to‑end telemetry stacks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to de‑escalate high‑pressure incidents.
