About the role
The Senior Officer, Inbound Logistics will coordinate the movement of raw materials, spare parts, equipment, fuels and other supplies from suppliers, ports and warehouses to Dangote’s plant locations. The role ensures timely deliveries, cost‑effective transportation and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound transportation activities and monitor shipment schedules.
- Proactively address potential delays and update logistics status reports for management.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents and internal teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Optimize transport resource utilization and adhere to delivery plans.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Stores, Production and Maintenance to align deliveries with operational needs.
- Verify shipping documents, customs paperwork and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor logistics metrics such as delivery performance, costs, lead times and service levels.
- Prepare weekly and monthly inbound logistics reports and recommend process improvements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management, Engineering or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CILT, CISC) are a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in inbound logistics or related supply‑chain functions.
