Senior E-commerce Web Developer

About the role

Opes Venit is seeking a Senior E‑commerce Web Developer to lead the design, development and maintenance of high‑performing online retail platforms. Based in Lagos, this full‑time position will work on‑site with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable and conversion‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain scalable e‑commerce platforms, ensuring security and performance.
• Develop and review front‑end and back‑end features daily using modern frameworks.
• Integrate third‑party services, logistics APIs and payment gateways.
• Optimize site speed, accessibility, SEO and checkout conversion rates.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, manage deployments and oversee version control.
• Mentor junior developers, set technical standards and own end‑to‑end project delivery.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven senior‑level experience developing e‑commerce websites.
• Strong ability to gather requirements, document solutions and work in a fast‑paced environment.
