Research Manager

About the role

PxD is looking for a dynamic, creative, and self‑motivated Research Manager to join its high‑performing, flexible team in Abuja. You will help shape and scale digital agricultural initiatives, working closely with internal and external researchers to test and refine innovative ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Identify learning objectives and resources for individual projects and manage research implementation, ensuring rigor, policy compliance, timelines, and budgets.
• Collaborate with leadership to scope, design, pilot, and scale evidence‑backed digital agriculture services.
• Develop and launch new research ideas and projects that support PxD’s programs and partners.
• Guide teams in evidence‑based approaches and maintain technical appropriateness and rigor.
• Interpret and contextualise internal and external evidence for program improvement.
• Oversee data management, analysis, survey creation, and implementation.
• Document research activities, results, and decision rationales.
• Manage partner relations and coordinate with external stakeholders for program operations.
• Ensure compliance with IRB protocols and in‑country research permissions.
• Contribute to funding proposals, project reports, strategic planning, and organizational knowledge management.
• Mentor associate‑level staff and support communication of findings through briefs, blogs, reports, and presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, agricultural economics, public policy, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing research projects in digital agriculture or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of digital technology adoption and scaling through government channels.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership management skills.
