About the role
Capepoint Limited is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support our roadworks and civil infrastructure projects across Rivers State. The successful candidate will provide commercial and cost management support across assigned projects and must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and project costings.
- Carry out quantity take‑offs and measurements from drawings and completed site works.
- Independently verify quantities and maintain accurate measurement records.
- Prepare costings and supporting documentation for additional works and variations.
- Prepare and support interim valuations and payment applications.
- Monitor project costs and provide timely information on potential cost overruns.
- Review project scope, drawings and specifications to identify omissions, discrepancies and potential variations.
- Maintain appropriate commercial and cost documentation throughout project execution.
- Liaise with site personnel and relevant client representatives on measurements, valuations and other commercial matters.
- Support tender pricing and cost analysis for prospective projects where required.
- Assist with final measurements and project account reconciliation.
Required profile
- B.Sc. or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years relevant post‑graduate professional experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Practical experience working on civil engineering, roadworks or infrastructure projects (strongly preferred).
- Demonstrable experience preparing BOQs, quantity take‑offs, cost estimates and project valuations.
- Practical experience identifying, measuring, costing and documenting variation works.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound commercial judgement with minimal supervision.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant QS tools.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation and record keeping.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
