Project Officer – Regional Cooperation (OPS4) – Institutional Support & Investments

About the role

The EU Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS is seeking a Project Officer to support the Regional Cooperation section. Reporting to the Team Leader, the officer will contribute to the Global Gateway agenda by facilitating large‑scale infrastructure investments in digital, energy, transport and other priority sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Support policy and sector dialogue with ECOWAS, its agencies, EU Member States, development partners, financial institutions and the private sector.
• Coordinate and monitor EU support to ECOWAS in priority Global Gateway sectors.
• Identify and analyse investment opportunities that can deliver transformational impact.
• Provide analytical input and briefing material for the Team Leader and senior officials.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, proposals and communications with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in policy or sector analysis within an international or diplomatic context.
• Familiarity with ECOWAS structures, EU external relations and investment programmes.
• Ability to work under supervision of the Team Leader and collaborate with a small multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work occasional atypical hours as required.
