Project Coordinator – ENSAND (Kaduna & Kano)

About the role
GAIN is looking for a Project Coordinator to provide field coordination and performance management for the Enhancing Access to Safe and Nutritious Diets (ENSAND) project across Kaduna and Kano states. The role bridges project partners, state‑level teams and government stakeholders, ensuring technical consistency, operational efficiency and alignment with programme standards.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate ENSAND implementation in Kaduna and Kano, ensuring alignment with project strategy and GAIN objectives.
- Coordinate operational planning, work‑plans, budgets and deliverables across both states.
- Support harmonisation of partner activities, data reporting and quality assurance.
- Facilitate inter‑state collaboration, knowledge exchange and adaptive programming.
- Ensure execution of core programme components (inputs, processing, marketing, financial inclusion, gender, innovation) with integration and synergy.
- Organise regular review meetings, joint planning sessions and reflection workshops.
- Monitor progress against targets such as job creation and enterprise growth, addressing bottlenecks.
- Embed technical standards, gender inclusion and safeguarding in all state‑level operations.
- Conduct field visits, spot checks and quality audits to assess partner performance.
- Support implementation of the Programme Quality Framework and learning systems.
- Identify operational risks and work with quality and risk teams on mitigation.
- Represent GAIN with state governments, implementing partners, private sector actors and development agencies.
- Strengthen state‑level coordination platforms for agrifood transformation, financial inclusion and youth employment.
Required profile
- Strong background in project coordination, preferably managing large‑scale agricultural, livelihoods or private‑sector development programmes across multiple states or regions.
- Demonstrated leadership and programme coordination abilities.
- Experience supervising teams and partners in field‑based settings.
