Primary Section Mathematics Teacher

About the role

Lead British International School is seeking a full‑time Primary Section Mathematics Teacher for its Oshogbo campus. You will deliver engaging, age‑appropriate mathematics lessons that blend the British and Nigerian curricula, fostering both academic excellence and character development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver mathematics lessons aligned with the school’s blended curriculum.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of primary‑aged pupils.
• Utilise a range of teaching methods and digital learning tools to enhance comprehension.
• Assess and track student progress through classwork, homework, tests and formative assessments, providing timely feedback to learners and guardians.
• Maintain a positive, orderly classroom environment and uphold school policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions and collaborative curriculum initiatives.
• Contribute to school events, co‑curricular activities and community outreach.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching licence or certification and a degree in Education, Mathematics Education or a related field.
• Strong subject‑matter expertise in mathematics and the ability to explain concepts clearly to primary students.
• Proven experience in lesson planning and curriculum development, preferably within the British or Nigerian curriculum frameworks.
• Effective classroom management skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive, safe learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with pupils, colleagues and parents.
