POS Repair Technician

About the role

The POS Repair Technician is a highly skilled technical professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and restoring Point‑of‑Sale terminals that suffer from complex hardware failures. This role focuses on advanced motherboard‑level repairs and serves as an escalation point for unresolved issues, ensuring high repair quality and minimal re‑repair rates.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex POS terminal hardware faults, especially motherboard‑level issues.
• Perform advanced electronic repairs such as component replacement, soldering, rework, and circuit‑level fault isolation.
• Analyze repeated or unresolved cases and implement permanent corrective solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis on failed units to prevent recurring faults.
• Validate that all repaired terminals meet quality assurance and performance standards before release.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation, including diagnostics, actions taken, and test results.
• Support quality‑control teams by providing technical clarification on complex repair outcomes.
• Mentor junior POS repair engineers and provide technical guidance when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in advanced hardware troubleshooting and repair of POS terminals.
• Strong knowledge of motherboard architecture, IC components, CPU, memory, and peripheral interfaces.
• Ability to perform precise soldering, rework, and component-level replacements.
• Excellent analytical skills for root cause analysis and process improvement.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
• Willingness to share expertise and mentor less‑experienced technicians.
