Port Operation Officer

About the role

The Port Operation Officer will coordinate all vessel movements and related port activities at Ascentech’s Lagos hub. This role ensures smooth arrival, berthing, cargo handling, crew changes and departure while maintaining compliance with maritime regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel arrival, berthing, operations and departure.
• Handle crew change, husbandry services and prepare all required port documentation.
• Liaise with NPA, NIMASA, Customs, Immigration, terminal operators and other stakeholders.
• Arrange vessel supplies, spare parts, transportation and other port requirements.
• Maintain accurate operational records and generate regular reports.
• Ensure compliance with port and maritime regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Port Management, Logistics, Transport Management or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in port or shipping operations, preferably with a shipping company or maritime agency.
• Strong communication, coordination, documentation and problem‑solving abilities.
