Nutrition OTP Nurse

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Nutrition OTP Nurse to support community‑based nutrition programs in Nigeria. Working closely with the nutrition officer and health sector partners, you will help implement CMAM, outreach, MIYCN and SFP activities in targeted locations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with nutrition officer and IRC sectors to deliver CMAM, outreach, MIYCN and SFP programs in MMC, Jere, Magumeri and Konduga.
• Develop work plans with health facility staff and coordinate outreach with Ministry of Health (MOH) teams.
• Train and supervise Community Health Volunteers, MTMSG and MTMC on routine MUAC screening and referral of SAM children to OTP sites.
• Identify and train community members for active case finding, referral and defaulter tracing.
• Ensure program implementation follows IRC policies, including admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive health checks and treatment according to established protocols.
• Review MOH forms for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor medical and therapeutic supply availability and coordinate with supply‑chain for pre‑positioning.
• Provide feedback to the Nutrition Manager on supply quality and quantity.

Required profile

• Registered nurse or nutrition assistant with experience in community health nutrition.
• Ability to work with health facility staff, MOH personnel and community volunteers.
• Strong organizational skills for planning, training and monitoring activities.
