NOC Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive NOC Engineer to join Ascentech’s network operations team in Lagos. The role involves monitoring our network infrastructure, detecting incidents early and ensuring swift resolution across assigned shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure and lead NOC operations during shifts, ensuring effective incident detection, response and resolution.
• Troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless, VPN and connectivity issues.
• Analyze alarms, logs and performance metrics to identify faults before they impact services.
• Coordinate with field and resident engineers on‑site, providing technical guidance to the NOC team.
• Own major incidents end‑to‑end, escalating to vendors or internal teams as needed and lead root‑cause analysis with preventive recommendations.

Required profile

• HND in Computer/Electrical‑Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Telecoms or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a 24/7 or shift‑based NOC environment.
• Strong hands‑on network troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience coordinating technical or field teams is a plus.

Required skills

• CCNA certification (or equivalent).
• CCNP certification (or equivalent).
• Network+ certification (or equivalent).
• Fortinet knowledge or certification.
• Proficiency with LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless and VPN technologies.
