MPD (Managed Pressure Drilling) Application Engineer

About the role

Weatherford is seeking an experienced MPD (Managed Pressure Drilling) Application Engineer to join its Port Harcourt team. The role serves as the primary technical and commercial liaison for assigned customer accounts, overseeing design, modelling, forecasting and delivery of MPD projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and simulation activities for assigned MPD jobs, ensuring technical integrity.
• Prepare pre‑job technical reviews and post‑job reports for customers.
• Conduct internal PEER reviews, briefs and de‑briefs in line with service design standards.
• Collaborate with Operations Supervisors to confirm job feasibility and resource allocation.
• Provide on‑site troubleshooting and technical assistance during field execution.
• Identify upsell opportunities, optimise service delivery and ensure contract compliance.
• Uphold corporate governance, HSE policies and quality management standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Managed Pressure Drilling applications and engineering.
• Strong customer‑facing skills with ability to manage commercial aspects of projects.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety, security, quality and continuous improvement.
