Managing Director / CEO – Asset Management

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer to steer the strategic growth and daily operations of a licensed asset management firm in Lagos. The successful candidate will lead investment strategy, fundraising, and regulatory compliance while driving profitability and AUM expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and set overall business objectives.
• Develop and execute investment strategies for mutual funds and other portfolios.
• Lead fundraising initiatives and grow Assets Under Management (AUM).
• Oversee portfolio performance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with institutional and high‑net‑worth investors, regulators, and key stakeholders.
• Drive product development, business growth, and profitability.
• Present performance and strategic recommendations to the Board.
• Mentor and develop high‑performing teams across the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred.
• 12–15 years of progressive experience in Asset Management, Investment Banking, Wealth Management or Capital Markets.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior executive leadership role.
• Proven track record of raising institutional funds and growing AUM.
• Professional certifications such as CFA, CIS, CIBN, ACA, ACCA (required).
• SEC Sponsored Individual status preferred; ESG certification an advantage.
