Logistics Intern – Abuja, Nigeria

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking an enthusiastic Logistics Intern to support its Abuja Country Office. This six‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in humanitarian logistics, helping displaced communities across Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Assist procurement by gathering quotations, preparing purchase orders and ensuring compliance with NRC policies.
• Follow up with suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries and resolve logistical issues.
• Maintain and update asset inventory records for accuracy and accountability.
• File logistics documentation on Office 365 to ensure audit readiness.
• Enter data and update databases with a focus on precision.
• Support asset disposal processes in line with NRC procedures.
• Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in market assessments and supplier pre‑qualification when required.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Basic understanding of logistics and operations processes.
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Interest in the humanitarian/NGO sector.
• Fluency in English.
