Legal & Compliance Manager – Web3/Fintech

About the role

We are seeking a senior Legal & Compliance Manager to lead regulatory strategy for our Web3 and fintech products across multiple jurisdictions. The role combines deep legal expertise with a strong understanding of blockchain technology to ensure rapid, compliant market entry.

Key responsibilities

• Research and interpret evolving fintech and Web3 regulations in Africa, Europe and the Americas.
• Lead licensing applications for financial permits such as IMTO, PSP, VASP, EMI.
• Design, implement and maintain AML/KYC/CFT policies and internal audit procedures.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, partnership contracts and vendor terms.
• Serve as primary liaison with regulators, financial intelligence units and external counsel.
• Identify legal risks in product roadmaps and provide actionable mitigation strategies to the executive team.

Required profile

• LLB with professional certification (e.g., CAMS) preferred.
• 10 + years legal/compliance experience, including 3‑5 years in fintech, crypto or Web3.
• Proven track record managing compliance in at least two of the core regions (Africa, EU, Americas).
• Extreme ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously in a high‑performance environment.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of blockchain technology.
• Experience with smart contracts and decentralized finance (DeFi).
• Knowledge of AML/KYC/CFT frameworks.
