Legal Associate – Immigration & Family Law (Remote)

About the role
This is a full‑time remote position as a Legal Associate, responsible for preparing legal documents, analysing legal issues and communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders. The role supports a wide range of matters including immigration, family‑based petitions, bankruptcy, divorce and asylum, providing strategic advice and case management.
Key responsibilities
- Draft forms, affidavits and other documents for USCIS and keep cases updated.
- Handle family‑based petitions, bankruptcy, divorce, immigration, EOIR, VAWA and asylum cases.
- Communicate legal advice on the above matters to internal attorneys and clients.
- Explain possible courses of action and repercussions to clients.
- Address client concerns regarding deportation, termination and case terminology.
- Gather client needs, write case notes and reports, and prepare interview packets (e.g., N‑400).
- Audit cases and perform related duties to support firm growth.
Required profile
- At least 7 years of litigation experience.
- Strong legal document preparation and analytical abilities.
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills.
- Tech‑savvy with high attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- LLB degree and called to the Nigerian Bar.
- Experience in US immigration law is an advantage.
