Junior Generator Operator

About the role

LighTech Automation Electrical Services Ltd is seeking a Junior Generator Operator to run diesel and gas generator sets at its Marina facility in Lagos. The role involves following established procedures, monitoring performance, and supporting senior technical staff during routine and emergency operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate diesel and gas generators, handling start‑up, synchronization, loading, unloading and shutdown according to SOPs.
• Monitor engine speed, voltage, frequency, current, load, temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage and fuel level, logging all relevant data.
• Conduct pre‑start checks, routine inspections and basic troubleshooting, escalating complex faults to senior personnel.
• Report abnormal consumption, leaks or unsafe conditions and maintain housekeeping in generator rooms.
• Assist with change‑over, power supply operations, and support maintenance activities as directed.

Required profile

• OND, NCE or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems or related field.
• 1–2 years practical experience operating diesel or gas generators in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays and to relocate to Ibeju‑Lekki.
