Junior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to manage all accounting transactions, ensure compliance with IFRS, and support budgeting, tax and audit activities for our energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure IFRS compliance in statutory reports and periodic analysis (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Process timely bank payments and oversee budgetary controls, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Compute taxes, prepare and file tax returns, and handle tax clearance.
• Audit financial transactions, coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Develop and maintain a secure financial database to improve efficiency.
• Liaise with finance team on project accounting, inter‑company transactions and preparation of project accounts.
• Advise management on the company’s financial health and other financial matters.

Required profile

• Minimum HND (Second Class Upper) – MBA in financial management or accounting is an advantage.
• At least 5 years post‑NYSC experience, including 2 years in a similar accounting role.
• Experience in the power/energy industry is a plus.
• Age between 30 and 40 years and willingness to relocate to project sites.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations.
