Human Resources Specialist – Nigeria

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to strengthen people systems, performance management, and employee relations for its Nigeria program. Based in Minna, the role partners with leaders to support workforce stability, compliance, and organizational effectiveness at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design and implement people strategies covering performance management, employee relations, talent management, HR operations and policy implementation.
• Translate organizational goals into practical HR frameworks, tools and processes that improve workforce effectiveness, accountability and retention.
• Identify people‑related risks such as performance gaps, attrition trends or compliance issues and advise leadership on mitigation actions.
• Ensure consistent and compliant application of HR policies across departments and locations.
• Collaborate on learning and development solutions, manage the annual L&D training tracker and provide regular reports.
• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the annual performance development review (PDR) cycle.
• Advise managers on employee relations matters, support investigations and promote equitable policy application.
• Support talent management activities including probation management, promotions, internal transfers and workforce movement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR strategy, performance management, employee relations and talent management.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to partner with senior leaders and translate organizational objectives into HR actions.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and mitigate people‑related risks.
