Head of Card Processing & Switching

About the role

The Head of Card Processing & Switching will lead the end‑to‑end card processing, switching and terminal operations for a leading Nigerian fintech group. The role ensures high transaction uptime, efficient settlement and rapid resolution of critical incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee card processing, switching engines and POS terminal networks across all subsidiaries.
• Monitor transaction flow, enforce ISO 8583 standards and manage NIBSS interfaces.
• Respond to internal and external support calls to minimise unplanned downtime.
• Escalate and coordinate resolution of critical issues with technical teams and regulators.
• Track performance metrics such as uptime, settlement accuracy and transaction failure rates.

Required profile

• First degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
• Minimum 9 years post‑NYSC experience in payment operations, switching or electronic banking.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role within a fintech or PSP environment.
• Strong knowledge of CBN and NIBSS regulations, settlement cycles and transaction routing.
