Finance and Accounts Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance and Accounts Manager to lead our finance function within a shipping and logistics company based in Lagos. The role will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and dashboards, providing analysis on revenue, costs, margins and profitability.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts, working with department heads to monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, produce cash‑flow forecasts, oversee accounts receivable and payable, and maintain banking relationships.
• Establish and maintain internal financial controls, review transactions, ensure proper approvals and documentation, and oversee fixed‑asset accounting.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, coordinate VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 8 years (96 months) of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Proven ability to lead financial reporting, budgeting, cash‑flow management and statutory compliance in a corporate environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the capability to explain variances and provide actionable insights to senior management.
