Consultant Paediatrician, General Surgeon & Anaesthetist – Abuja

About the role

British Community Hospital and Outpatient Clinics (BCHOC) in Kabusa Village, Abuja, is expanding its multidisciplinary team. Three senior consultant positions are open: Paediatrician, General Surgeon and Anaesthetist. The successful candidates will deliver high‑quality specialist care across outpatient, inpatient, emergency and on‑call services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence‑based patient care in your specialty.
• Participate in emergency, inpatient, outpatient and on‑call duties.
• Collaborate with nurses, midwives, allied health professionals and management.
• Supervise, teach and mentor junior staff.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Maintain professional standards of documentation and communication.
• Support the growth of BCHOC’s current and future locations.

Required profile

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• Fully qualified medical doctor with specialist training and board certification (or equivalent) in Paediatrics, General Surgery or Anaesthesiology.
• Current practising licence.
• Demonstrated experience in the relevant specialty, including emergency and complex case management.
• Strong clinical, communication and leadership abilities.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care, continuous professional development and evidence‑based practice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic or paper‑based medical record systems.
