Community Liaison Officer – Host Community Engagement

About the role

The Community Liaison Officer will serve as the primary interface between Nestoil Plc’s projects and the host communities in Warri, Delta State. This role is essential for fostering positive relationships, ensuring community concerns are addressed, and supporting the company’s social licence to operate.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the face and voice of the project/company in daily interactions with community representatives, traditional rulers, youth leaders, women’s groups, and other grassroots stakeholders.
• Identify and map key community influencers, gatekeepers, and power dynamics to inform engagement strategies.
• Mediate disputes between the community and contractors or subcontractors on employment, contracts, or environmental impacts.
• Ensure implementation of community employment, subcontracting, and local vendor utilization in line with MoUs, GMOU provisions, or local government policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in community relations, preferably within the oil & gas or infrastructure sectors.
• Demonstrated experience working in the Niger Delta or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of local content and employment compliance requirements.
