Commercial Manager

About the role

The Commercial Manager will oversee all commercial aspects of projects, ensuring contracts, budgets and financial performance are effectively managed. This role involves close collaboration with project, finance and stakeholder teams to drive profitability and mitigate risks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project contracts, budgets, costs and overall commercial activities.
• Prepare tenders, quotations, valuations and commercial reports.
• Monitor project costs, profitability, cash flow and financial performance.
• Handle variations, claims, invoices and payment processes.
• Review subcontractor and supplier commercial agreements.
• Negotiate with clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Identify commercial risks and implement cost‑control measures.
• Liaise with project and finance teams to ensure commercial viability.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business Administration, Commercial Management or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in commercial management, contracts, quantity surveying or project commercial operations, preferably in an engineering/construction environment.
• Professional certification or membership (e.g., RICS, NIQS) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of contract administration, tendering, pricing, cost control, budgeting and commercial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with commercial/project management software.
