Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Digital Banking

About the role

The newly acquired micro‑finance bank is seeking a forward‑thinking Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial stewardship and digital transformation agenda. Reporting to the MD/CEO and working closely with the Board, the CFO will shape the bank’s strategic direction and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a 5‑year strategic plan focused on digital products, channels and operations.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives such as digital lending, mobile banking, agent banking and fintech partnerships.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and produce IFRS‑compliant financial statements, management accounts and Board packs.
• Monitor P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, capital adequacy, liquidity and profitability, recommending corrective actions.
• Oversee treasury, liquidity, asset‑liability management and funding strategy.
• Manage capital planning to meet CBN MFB requirements and support the transition to a National MFB license.
• Develop relationships with investors, lenders and DFIs; lead equity, quasi‑equity or debt raising initiatives.
• Collaborate with Risk, Audit & Compliance to maintain a robust enterprise risk management framework.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience in banking or micro‑finance.
• Strong understanding of CBN regulatory guidelines and financial inclusion objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead digital transformation and data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills.
