Category Manager – Contraceptives (Africa)

About the role

The Category Manager – Contraceptives (Africa) will lead the strategic and commercial direction of Viya Health’s contraceptive portfolio across African markets. You will shape regional marketing strategies, drive product growth, support launches and equip country teams with the tools needed to meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the regional portfolio strategy, annual operating plan, and growth targets.
• Design and execute integrated marketing plans, promotional campaigns, digital initiatives and customer engagement programs across multiple countries.
• Act as the regional product expert, providing training, sales tools and coaching to country sales teams.
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity and sales performance to generate insights and forecast demand.
• Partner with Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Market Access and other functions to ensure compliant, evidence‑based, and well‑sourced product launches.
• Manage regional marketing budgets, track ROI and ensure revenue, market‑share and profitability targets are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, nursing, medicine, biological sciences or related life‑science field; MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 7‑10 years of pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience, including 3‑5 years in product or brand management.
• Proven experience managing pharmaceutical products across multiple African countries, preferably in women’s health or reproductive health.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional projects and influence without authority.
