Business Development Officer – Lagos

About the role

The Business Development Officer will support the growth team in identifying new opportunities and engaging prospective clients in the Energy & Utilities sector. Based in Lagos, you will help shape the pipeline, prepare proposals and contribute to strategic campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities and prospective clients.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
• Initiate client interactions via calls, emails and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Maintain and update the CRM system and client records.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy.
• Assist in planning and executing business development campaigns.
• Attend client meetings, take minutes and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Prepare periodic reports and track key performance indicators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in sales, client engagement, marketing or business development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong negotiation, persuasion and relationship‑building abilities.
• Confident, outgoing and professional with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, eager to learn and able to take initiative.
