Tax Analyst

About the role

The Tax Analyst will provide operational support to the tax function at Dangote Sugar Refinery's Apapa facility, ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance. The role involves handling VAT and WHT returns, supporting staff and directors on tax matters, and assisting with financial reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Compute monthly VAT and WHT liabilities and ensure filing of returns within statutory deadlines.
• Post recovered WHT journals, maintain records of WHT receivables, and follow up with banks and stakeholders on outstanding amounts.
• Support the Tax Officer in preparing monthly tax reports for the Head Office.
• Maintain and update staff Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) and create new tax IDs as required.
• Address staff and directors’ tax-related enquiries and provide timely resolutions.

Required profile

• BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in taxation, accounting, or finance.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation and compliance processes.
• Professional qualification or progress towards ICAN, ACCA, CITN or equivalent is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.
• Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Tax Pro‑Max for WHT journal entries.
