Supply Chain Manager (FMCG Industry)

About the role

A leading FMCG organization in Nigeria is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations. The role reports to the General Manager / Head of Operations and covers procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics, demand planning and distribution in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage end-to-end operations including procurement, planning, warehousing, inventory control, transportation and distribution.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods.
• Lead demand planning and sales forecasting with Sales, Production and Finance teams.
• Optimize inventory levels while minimizing stock-outs, excess stock and working capital.
• Drive logistics and distribution efficiency for timely delivery across Nigeria.
• Negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers, transporters and third-party logistics providers.
• Monitor KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turnover, fill rates, procurement savings and logistics costs.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, quality standards and company policies.
• Identify process improvement, automation and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Lead, mentor and develop the supply chain team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• 8-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management within a reputable FMCG or manufacturing company.
• Proven experience managing procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics and distribution.
• Experience handling large-scale FMCG distribution networks across multiple regions.
• Professional certifications such as APICS, CIPS or CSCP are an added advantage.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of S&OP, demand planning, procurement strategy and warehouse management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Analytical, negotiation, problem-solving and leadership skills, with strong stakeholder management.
