About the role
An employer based in Mabushi, Abuja is hiring a full-time Solar Technician to install, integrate and commission commercial and industrial (C&I) solar systems and mini-grids. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience executing solar installation projects and can handle technical assignments independently with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Install C&I solar PV systems and mini-grids, including panel mounting, DC/AC wiring, cable termination and inverter integration
- Configure systems and carry out testing, commissioning, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and installation layouts
- Work on-site and travel to project locations when required
Required profile
- Proven hands-on experience installing C&I solar PV systems and mini-grids
- 2-4 years of experience in solar and inverter installation
- OND/HND/BSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- COREN certification is an added advantage
Required skills
- Solar system components: PV modules, inverters, battery storage systems and protection devices
- AutoCAD or similar solar design and technical drawing software
- Basic Microsoft Office tools for reporting
