Planning Engineer - In-House Construction Projects

About the role

Achyutam International is recruiting an experienced Planning Engineer for in-house construction projects in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. The role covers planning, monitoring and execution of projects, including schedules, progress tracking, cost control and timely delivery. Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor detailed project schedules aligned with timelines, milestones and deliverables.
• Prepare project plans, work programmes, resource schedules and progress reports using MS Project, and track progress against plan, recommending corrective action on delays.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Handle quantity surveying tasks such as BOQs, quantity take-offs, valuations and cost estimates.
• Monitor project costs, track budget utilisation and support cost control.
• Manage FIDIC contract matters, including claims, variations, Extension of Time (EOT) and contractual documentation.
• Prepare periodic progress reports on status, schedule performance, cost variations and risks, and resolve bottlenecks.
• Use AI tools for planning, reporting, data analysis and more efficient project monitoring.

Required profile

• B.Sc./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning, preferably in construction or infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience in quantity surveying and FIDIC contracts (claims, variations, EOT).
• Preferred: COREN or NIQS certification; PMP or PMI-SP is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of MS Project for scheduling and monitoring.
