About the role
The Senior Service Engineer will own the full operational lifecycle of Husk's Commercial & Industrial solar portfolio in Nigeria, ensuring asset uptime, SLA fulfilment and customer satisfaction. This hands‑on, field‑anchored position combines deep technical competence with commercial maturity to manage high‑value client relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Own operational performance of all active C&I sites, monitoring daily data and maintaining accurate logs.
- Design and execute preventive maintenance programmes, schedule field technicians and vendors, and keep compliance documentation.
- Lead corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, root‑cause analysis and ensure critical faults are resolved within MTTR targets.
- Serve as primary post‑HOTO contact for customers, conduct service reviews and manage complaints within SLAs.
- Prepare weekly performance reports, monthly operation summaries and contribute data to dashboards.
- Manage service vendors, OEM partners and contractors, validate deliverables and process invoices.
- Enforce HSE standards, conduct safety inspections and maintain regulatory compliance files.
- Support commissioning teams, validate HOTO documentation and ensure new sites are onboarded to operational systems.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; COREN registration is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in operations, maintenance or technical service for large‑scale solar PV, hybrid energy or C&I power systems.
- Experience managing O&M for installations >200 kWp, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple sites, vendors and field technicians while ensuring uptime and client satisfaction.
- Familiarity with BESS, AC‑coupled hybrid configurations and relevant standards (IEC 62446, IEEE 1547, ANSI relay codes, Nigerian electrical safety regulations).
Required skills
- Technical knowledge of large solar PV systems, battery storage, hybrid inverters, AC/DC distribution and protection systems.
- Proficiency in reading single‑line diagrams, protection coordination schemes and system performance data.
- Experience with energy monitoring platforms and maintenance management systems.
- Ability to conduct preventive maintenance planning and execute corrective fault resolution.
