Research Analyst

About the role

The Research Analyst will produce high‑quality macroeconomic, fixed‑income, equity, credit and multi‑asset research to support the Investment Management team’s portfolio construction and investment decisions. You will analyse financial markets, economic trends, listed companies and sectors, delivering timely insights and actionable recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor domestic and global macroeconomic developments and assess their impact on portfolios.
• Analyse monetary/fiscal policy, inflation, interest rates, exchange rates and geopolitical events.
• Prepare economic outlook reports, market commentaries and macro scenario analyses.
• Conduct fixed‑income research, including yield‑curve analysis, duration recommendations and relative‑value opportunities across Nigerian Treasury Bills, FGN Bonds, Eurobonds and Commercial Papers.
• Perform fundamental equity analysis, build financial models, and generate buy/hold/sell recommendations using DCF, comparable companies and precedent transactions.
• Assess creditworthiness of corporate issuers, review financial statements and monitor credit rating actions.
• Support portfolio managers with trade ideas, asset‑allocation decisions and performance attribution.
• Maintain research databases, dashboards (Excel, Power BI) and automate data‑collection processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field (Master’s a plus).
• Relevant professional certification in investment or financial services is advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize large data sets and produce concise reports.
