Project Manager – Highway & Earthworks

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager to lead highway, road construction and large‑scale earthworks projects in Nigeria. The role is fully site‑based and requires strong leadership to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end planning, execution, monitoring and closure of highway and earthworks projects.
• Develop detailed execution plans, work programmes and resource schedules.
• Manage project budgets, cash flow, schedules and resource allocation, reporting progress weekly and monthly.
• Supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and technical teams to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with main contractors, consultants, government agencies and regulatory bodies; handle contract variations, claims and change orders (including FIDIC standards).
• Enforce health, safety, environmental and quality standards through regular site inspections.
• Optimize utilisation of manpower, materials and heavy equipment, ensuring timely procurement and deployment.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• 7‑10+ years of experience in civil engineering or infrastructure project management, with at least 5 years in a senior PM role.
• Proven track record delivering highway, road or earthworks projects in Nigeria or similar markets.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contract administration and local regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills in remote construction environments.
• Ability to work onsite full‑time and manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
