Programme Officer – Budget and Quality Assurance

About the role

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a Programme Officer – Budget and Quality Assurance on a temporary assignment to support the Nutrition and Child Development Section. Reporting to the Nutrition Manager (Diets and Practices), the officer will help ensure that the USD 250 million nutrition programme is financed and delivered in line with UNICEF’s results‑based standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review proposal budgets and financial projections to align with the Nutrition and Child Development Section’s strategy and resource mobilisation needs.
• Track and manage the effective and efficient utilisation of budgets, ensuring compliance with results‑based principles and UNICEF standards.
• Monitor budget performance against targets and provide regular financial reporting to the Nutrition Manager.
• Support quality‑assurance processes related to financial management and donor conditionalities.

Required profile

• Works under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Manager (Diets and Practices).
• Demonstrated ability to handle budget development, tracking and compliance in a development or humanitarian context.
